Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

Decided to run with my old training group from last Spring.  I was quickly reminded of how hilly and windy Mapleton is.  We did an 8 mile loop around Mapleton and then ran 2 miles up Hobble Creek Canyon.  I never thought I would be running up HC in mid January.  It was icy, windy, and cold brrrr but a good adventure.  Turned around and headed back to my friend Pam's house.  Overall it was a good run but my body definitely feels fatigued this week.  AP was 8:27.  My shin held up pretty good and only bothered me when I surged or was running uphill.

Went to the gym afterwards to do weights.  I was going to run 2 more mi on the treadmill after I lifted to get 16 in for the day but I was exhausted and just saw no sense in pushing myself just for the number.  I kind of feel like everyone is ahead of me with Boston training but hopefully I can start to increase my endurance in February.  No need to push to much now and end up with an injury.

Rachelle I would argue that you are AHEAD of where you need to be for Boston! :-) Do you remember doing 3 x 2 miles @ 10K pace a few days ago? Haha I couldn't do that right now!

Seriously - you are at a great level of fitness right now. We have 13+ weeks to go... that is a ton of time. You will be ready!!!

ps - we booked our flights - we are taking the southwest flight on saturday @845 AM out of SLC... its one of the few flights that doesn't require a red-eye or late arrival.

Thanks for your feedback Jake! I have been feeling like I am behind and a little bit discouraged but I think you are probably right.

I am flying with Southwest as well but we (my Dad is going with me) are leaving Thursday afternoon. Neither of us have ever been to Boston so we are making a little trip out of it.

NO worries RAchelle. No one is ahead of you because you are running YOUR OWN RACE!! Remember that ;D : D
