Decided to run with my old training group from last Spring. I was quickly reminded of how hilly and windy Mapleton is. We did an 8 mile loop around Mapleton and then ran 2 miles up Hobble Creek Canyon. I never thought I would be running up HC in mid January. It was icy, windy, and cold brrrr but a good adventure. Turned around and headed back to my friend Pam's house. Overall it was a good run but my body definitely feels fatigued this week. AP was 8:27. My shin held up pretty good and only bothered me when I surged or was running uphill.
Went to the gym afterwards to do weights. I was going to run 2 more mi on the treadmill after I lifted to get 16 in for the day but I was exhausted and just saw no sense in pushing myself just for the number. I kind of feel like everyone is ahead of me with Boston training but hopefully I can start to increase my endurance in February. No need to push to much now and end up with an injury. |
