Short-Term Running Goals: My goal is to continue to enjoy running and maybe get faster a long the way! :) Long-Term Running Goals: Run until I am 100 years old! Personal: I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences. I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn. I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University. | I had a blast running this marathon with my friend Heather. She had just ran Big Cottonwood three weeks prior and wanted to go for a BQ. She is 100% capable...but I think BC was still in her legs. Heather is truly one tough cookie. She started hitting the wall at Veyo and really hammered through and held it together incredibly well. 26.2 @ 8:26 pace. I don't really know what the official time was because I ran the first 4 miles alone until I could find Heather. I stopped at mile 4 and waited and cheered for runners until I found Heather.
Congratulations to everyone who raced so well. Many stand out performances! This was my first time really running the entire course and I really enjoyed it. My feet were not happy even at the slow pace and I'm sad that my ability to run a marathon healthy is just not even a possibility right now. I need to go to the doctor again and try to come up with a more aggressive approach rather than ignorance.
