Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

Couldn't make it to BYU indoor track with the JJ's:( but still wanted to get a good speed workout in even if I was stuck on the treadmill. 1600 + 5 x 400 + 1600 with 400 recovery in between everything.  This first mile was 6:03 and felt like quite the push, all of the 400's were @10.5-10.8 (5:39 average), last mile was 5:58 and felt "comfortably hard".  It is amazing how much easier the last mile felt after doing the faster 400's.  I like the treadmill for tempo runs but not speed workouts like this because I feel like I kind of settle and don't push myself as hard as I would on the track.  Still a really great workout for me.

I'm thinking about doing the 10k in Phoenix instead of the half.  I've never really trained to race a 10k because there are really no good 10k courses in Utah and it would be kind of fun to go after that 37:xx time at sea level.

okay I did measly 200s at a slower pace and I thought the TM was going to whip me off : D way to go Rachelle. 200s however probably go by too fast to settle into a pace but still I can't fathom 400s that fast. WICKED AWESOME. Not sure if you should do half or 10k....PRs are awesome so either way you would get that.

Angie it is March 1st, I'm doing the half.

Great workout Rachelle, and I think the 10k is a fabulous idea, then I don't have to race you;)

Awesome workout Rachelle! Those are some fast 400's. I always thought it'd be kind of fun to train for a shorter distance. It be cool to see what you could do in the 10k.

I love doing fast stuff after crazyfast stuff--that feeling of it being so much easier makes me realize the value of speedwork!

I like the 37 flat 10k time goal. Go for it.
