Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

Bailed on the planned track wo because I wanted to sleep in....but I couldn't sleep in anyway so I should have just went!  After I stared at the ceiling for an hour I headed to the gym for a treadmill workout.  5 x 800 + 2 x 400 with 400 recovery at a 7:53 pace between everything.  800's were all 5:56 average pace and the 400's were 5:52 pace.  I am feeling burnt out, stressed, and tired and I don't really know why...I think it is just time for Spring to come.  It seems like it's been an extra long winter this year.

Burned out feeling = too much treadmill!

I have been on the treadmill for my last 28 or so miles and I'm feeling burned out in just that short amount of time.

You'll be fine once the weather warms and you're outside with friends more often I think.

Nice little workout and pace by the way.

Well done. Your workouts when you're feeling burnt out are a kick in the pants! Spring will come, it HAS to right?

I totally agree Riley - the treadmill is so difficult!

Natalie - I sure hope so. :) If not I have trips planned to Vegas and Pheonix in the next month so hopefully that will cure me.

Which race are you doing in Phoenix?

From Rachelle on Wed, Jan 29, 2014 at 16:34:39 from 199.190.170.30

I am registered for the Phoenix half on the 1st but I may drop to the 10k. We'll see how the training goes.

Are you doing the half or the full?

From RileyCook on Wed, Jan 29, 2014 at 16:37:06 from 64.134.38.81

I got the full. It should be fun. I enjoyed it down there last year. They put on a good race.

Not really a big deal to feel a little burned out R. That's pretty normal when training sometimes. I agree on too much TM. My goal is to not be on a TM all year. I am most likely going to do the Gusher Half Marathon on March 8th. I did not register for anything at PHX this year. I didn't even think I might be running so my year isn't even planned. I am going to do the Hale 10k this Saturday as a tempo workout. It will be in the middle of a LR planned. I'm enjoying the ride back. Hopefully I'll have a good plan in a couple of weeks. Right now it's just build the mileage and hope by April 21st I can enjoy a really fun time running Boston. This is the only event I'm registered for so far this year. Your training looks great by the way and you should do fine on Saturday. Enjoy the next few days going easy. See ya Saturday.

Spencer - There are a few of us meeting at 8:45am to run the 10k course before the race. I am utilizing it as a part of a LR as well. You are welcome to join us.
