Awesome group run this morning up in Riverton on the Riverton half marathon course.  It was a really pretty course with quite a few rolling hills.  I will be pacing it for the race so it was nice to familiarize myself with the course.  I stuck with JulieC and we averaged 8:07 pace for the half.  We regrouped at the park and then went back out for 5 more.  I was only planning 17 for today but ended up with 18.  (I should have known better being with Julie and Kelli ha ha.)

I ran with Chad the last 5 miles and ended up with the last 5 at MP (7:39) with the last mile at 7:09.  Thanks Chad for pushing me at the end.  It was a great run but now I am definitely feeling the effects of a high mileage week.  ice, ice, baby!

PM:  Met my sister and my friend Julia at the track and walked 2-3 miles.  So nice this afternoon. :)  My calves are incredibly sore from the LR this morning.  I'm hoping that means I got a good run in. :)

If I'd gotten my way, it would have been 19. ;o)

Great to see you and NICE job on those speedy miles at then end. It is always great to have someone there to push you to the pace you want. And those are some incredible speeds with the few "little" hills thrown in!

Awesome to see you as usual! Nice day for a run and be amongst friends! Thanks for bringing your friends from Springville. Her daughter dropped her cell phone that had a credit card and Costco card in it. We ended up finding it for her luckily! It was about a mile into the course. What are the odds of finding that?

that is cool Walter!! my husband dropped 50 dollars cash at Home Depot...didn't resurface at the lost and found...kind of a big bummer!! Rachelle thanks for driving with me!! good run girl!! Walter where are those pics of the race? I tried to find them.

Great finish to your long run. Getting a little fatigue in your legs before the marathon miles is a great way to train your body for the race!

From Jake K on Sat, Feb 04, 2012 at 16:37:16 from 67.177.21.60

Great run to cap off the week Rachelle! Strong finish to the run w/ the MP and faster miles. Way to go!

How did you like the new shoes?

From Rachelle on Sat, Feb 04, 2012 at 16:57:12 from 66.7.127.115

Kelli - that is what I was worried about. ha ha endurance is my weakness though so it was good for me.

Walter - that is awesome you found their stuff on the ground. I am so glad they came up but feel bad they were gone by the time I finished up.

Andrea - thanks so much! It definitely felt good to push myself a bit.

Jake - This was only my 4th time wearing the shoes and I am really liking them. I order all my shoes on clearence at runningwarehouse so I kind of took a risk but so far it is working out.

I can run all day, as long as it is nice and slow. ;o) But I was getting very hungry.

This is going to be a GREAT year for you. That marathon is going to fall into place and you are going to amaze yourself. When you beat me to the finish line, you have to wait there to tell me all about it. And bring me a diet coke. ;o)

great run today, rachelle! and great week, too. you are really getting in some good training right now. those fast miles at the end of the long run will be so beneficial for the marathon. it sounds like you guys had a great group today.

Rachelle...your only 1/2 a mile away from hitting 70! You need to hop on a treadmill right now...hehehe

From Chad Robinson on Sat, Feb 04, 2012 at 21:13:52 from 208.110.158.227

Nice meeting you and nice running Rachelle. I think there was a lot more pulling on your part - I was just looking forward to getting to the end of the white fence.

thanks Walter. NOW to figure out how to put them on my facebook page. : D. Turning 43 on Tuesday. Never too late to learn : D

From JulieC on Sun, Feb 05, 2012 at 10:04:24 from 207.108.177.11

my lower back is killing me. It has spread to both my hamstrings. we should have braved the icing!! Melanie, Melody and Josse all iced in the Provo river. Misery loves company. Next time. There is a reservoir by my house. That won't be as cold. I will have to check to see if it is frozen over before our long run in two weeks.

Jake-- is your group wanting to run fast for the 18 miler? If so I will have to go out and spray paint the roads or put up signs/flags. I plan on four fast at the end as usual when I run this run. I usually am about a 8-8:07 pace before that. There are a few good hills in there. : D.
