I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

Met up with Cam with a C this morning for a little jaunt around Provo.  It was so so nice to have company and the weather was perfect.  :)  My legs on the other hand were feeling pretty fatigued.  Pace was 8:08 but effort felt like sub-8.

I do not have high hopes for this race I am running tomorrow.  Just going to try and listen to my body and make the best of it.  I do not have the time or energy to stress about it.

Went to Golds Gym in Provo afterwards for planks/pushups (and to use their showers).  Ran into my friend Janae and she so kindly reminded me of how bad the race I'm running tmr sucks.  Then while driving to work my Dad called and told me his co-workers wife Arrianne Brown (sub-3 marathoner) won it last year in 1:36 and said she wouldn't ever run it again it sucked so bad.  Geez thanks for rubbing it in everyone!!

Looks like a challenging course. It will be a good workout for you in preparation for Boston. Good luck on the race and the extra mileage to get to 20. Be sure to take it slow on the extra miles.

what's EVEN funnier (not really) is that is SUCKED for the spectators as well. This year surely should be better!!! I waited around in 40 mph winds ducking between cars thinking "I am so freakin' glad I am not running this race!!". And then when I didn't see Melanie for forever I was really worried. However Melanie would have won. She went off course with the lead guys. They actually got a lift back to where they strayed off the course. Which Melanie dwelled on for quite sometime. But all the guys agreed to get a lift from the driver. So basically, if you are climbing for what seems like forever you are on the wrong course!!! Seriously Rachelle all this negative feedback will only turn out POSITIVE!! So wish I coul spectate this year!! :D. Happy Big 26th AGAIN!!

ugh, and sorry to be the rain cloud again, did you see it's supposed to be pretty windy tomorrow? SUCK!

But yeah, what Allie said.... I agree with that!

Use the race as your hard tempo preparation for Boston. Start conservative and finish strong. Time doesn't matter - effort level does! You want this to be a confidence booster that you are READY for Boston!

Thanks everyone!

Andy - I am definitely just using it as a MP tempo workout.

Allie - yes apparently it is the Shamrock half from hell. ha!

Julie - I really wish you were going to be there to guide me because knowing my directional skills I will get lost!

Lily - Yes - 23mph winds with gust up to 40mph. Character building run maybe? ha

Andrea - Solid advice! Thank you for that. Have fun in Brazil.
