Leg #1 - 7:30pm: 5.5 miles, 6:24 pace. First 3 miles were downhill and the last 2.5 were gradual uphill. Moving fast felt completely awkward and kind of awful and I never felt in a groove. My parents and my brother and sister in law surprised me and were at the finish of this leg. That made me so incredibly happy and completely careless about how I felt running. My family is so awesome, I love them!
Leg #2 - 3:00am: 4 miles, 6:31 pace. Again running fast did not feel fluid or normal at all. I am just not recovered physically or mentally from Snow Canyon and I am okay with that. I had to keep reminding myself It's just Ragnar and there was no reason so kill myself. Speaking of kills I think I passed like 23 people during this leg which was fun and reasurred me I was at least going the right way. :)
Leg #3 - 10:30am: 7.5 miles, 6:48 pace. I felt kind of dizzy and like I was going to faint before the leg even started. I realize how dramatic I sound right now but seriously whenever I am on my period I just feel awful, lightheaded, and like I could seriously pass out while running. I need to get this figured out but for now it is what it is. TMI guys I'm sorry! Anyway I managed to survive the 7.5 miles. It was hot and my feet were on fire after just a few miles. Ugh stupid feets!
Wrap up: I had an absolute blast. My team is absolutely hilarious, fast, laid back, awesome and just fun. We get a free entry into this every year and it is hard to pass up because it really is just so much fun. We finished in 22:46 which is an average pace of 7:18. That said running wise I felt pretty much completely miserable and my body just needs more lazy running and hobby jogging. I went into this sleep deprived, a little stressed from school, and burnt out and these Ragnar's are always just so much harder than I give them credit for. I don't think I dug myself into a hole at all. I was smart enough to back off when I could tell I was pushing too hard but it was a clear sign that I need more recovery time.
