I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

The Kinvara 4 has a wide width - http://alturl.com/et7pm. Also, mens shoes are wider..I wear a mens shoe and it fits much better.

Thanks Andrea. How does your sizing translate in the mens shoes?

From Rachelle on Wed, May 29, 2013 at 10:15:51 from 159.212.71.77

I'm afraid I may not find mens shoes small enough for me. (6.5 in womens)

Sounds like a fun run.

Its usually 1-1.5 size difference... so you would be a Men's 5-5.5, which unfortunately doesn't exist. Most men's lines start at 6.5 or 7.

Soak your feet in fertilizer and grow them!

From Rachelle on Wed, May 29, 2013 at 10:36:16 from 159.212.71.77

That definitely sounds like the best option but if they grow any wider I may have to cut them off and get prosthetics.

Do you get any sort of discount code (that you want to share) for saucony now that your big wig?

From Jake K on Wed, May 29, 2013 at 10:45:28 from 67.177.11.154

I wish I did... but I don't have anything like that right now.

Just so you are aware - "B" is the standard width in women's shoes. "D" is the standard in men's. Some women's shoes will be made in the D (wide) or 2E (extra-wide) widths. Its hit or miss, though, and will take a bit of searching to find the right match. Like Andrea said, going to men's shoes is usually the simplest option, but that doesn't quite work for you.

From Rachelle on Wed, May 29, 2013 at 10:56:28 from 159.212.71.77

Yeah it is definitely harder to find the wide ones...unless you want to pay retail. Which I'm absolutely willing to do if they help....but my problem is I'm putting so much money into running shoes and then not using them because they hurt my feet. :/

Running Warehouse has some wide Kinvara 3s - http://www.runningwarehouse.com/descpageWRS-SKN3W1.html. I bet if you did some searching on that site, you'll be able to find a shoe that will work for you.

You are awesome Andrea, thanks.

You have little feet like me. Nike Freeruns have wide and they are super light and comfortable with a little bit of drop.
