Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

Orchard loop with Jen.  I wore my headlamp this morning so that I could pace the tempo better.  Last weeks sub-6 min miles were cool but kind of left me in a hole so I did not want that to happen again.  2 mile warmup and then 4 mile tempo 6:23, 6:12, 6:10, 6:10.  The first 3 miles of the tempo felt very controlled and we even talked through them.  The last mile was more of a push.  It is a gradual uphill and Jen had a good 10-15 seconds on me which I was totally okay with.  The goal of the workout today was to get more of a controlled workout and not wipe myself out.  3 mile cool down with Jen at a moderate pace and then I added an extra slow mile by myself to shake things out.  10 miles total.

Strength training and foam rolling.  My left shin is bothering me just a bit so I got some ice on it.  Didn't notice it during the workout but just when walking up the stairs to my house afterwards.  I really need to buy some compression sleeves (my dog chewed mine...literally) and some new trainers.

Solid workout, right at HM pace. That's where you want to be. Smart to not force it and chase Jen.

Good on the 100s the other day as well. Those little things add up!

your improvement the last 4 months is very impressive R. You stay healthy and injury free and you will be doing some pretty impressive times the rest of the year. Excited for ya...

You are so smart with your training. I agree with Spencer.. really exciting to see your quick improvements.

It might be all in my head, but I swear by compression sleeves. Especially with us desk jobbers. Get some!! :)

Awesome tempo Rachelle! Looks like it was very controlled. Bummer on the calf sleeves.
