9 mile tempo 7:00, 6:54, 6:44, 6:48, 6:34, 6:44, 6:44, 6:38, 6:28. Paces are a little inconsistant but the effort felt very consistant. This was done on a double loop with some good rollers. I had a harder time getting into a rythm than last weeks tempo and the first 2 miles felt harder than the pace but after I got rolling everything felt good. My feet did not bother me at all which I am very happy about. Overall pace including warmup and cooldown was 7:06 for the 12.5 miles.
PM: 2.6 easy. I'm not sure if it was the new shoes I threw on for this run or the half bag of chex mix I ate before I went out but I felt REALLY good. I had to keep reminding myself to slow down! There is definitely something to be said about the effects of carbs and high mileage training.....even if it was semi embarassing when the grocery store clerk skimmed my cart and asked "So how many kids do you have?".....haha "none but my 13lb dog really likes twizlers & Chexmix." :) |
